Rede ACV issues Carbon Booklet

"Carbon" is an increasingly constant theme in the debates of several organizations, both in the context of public policies (national and international), and in promoting Environmental Labeling, since it can promote a competitive product/service differential, as well as represent a corporate commitment to the 2030 Agenda and an opportunity to communicate with internal and external audiences.

Therefore, Rede ACV conducted a survey to understand what the demands of organizations in relation to this issue. As a result, the following desires were mapped out:

. To better understand the commitments made by organizations in this context;
. To promote internal engagement within the organization;
. Use knowledge as a support/subsidy for communication with Stakeholders and
. . Avoiding greenwashing traps.

As a result of this effort and in order to meet these demands, Rede ACV's Labeling Working Group is pleased to share Rede ACV's Carbon Booklet, which brings infographics and short, explanatory texts that seek to broaden the understanding of the terms and issues of the Carbon world, and present current data about Brazil and the world. Elaborated by several hands, it aims to meet important expectations:

. Understand "fashionable" terms. Ex: Carbon Neutral; Net Zero; etc.
. To better understand the discussions of the COPs (United Nations Climate Conference) and the individual and organizational consequences.
. Understand Scopes 1, 2 and 3 regarding GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions inventories.
. Identify implications for the organization/area of responsibility, as well as what can be done.

Therefore, today we are sharing the Primer so that organizations and their employees can follow the discussions foreseen at the COP27, in Egypt, in a more informed way. Soon after, still in November, we will hold the launch event, with special guests and partners. Stay tuned on our social networks!

We highlight and thank the contributions of our associates 3M, Akatu Institute, IBICT - Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology, KPMG and WayCarbon, which made possible this important delivery of the LCA Network Labeling Working Group.
